Nocellara del Belice
Nocellara del Belice cultivar are dual purpose table olives and extra virgin olive oil.
The oil has a low acidity ranging from 0.2% and 0.4% compared to a maximum allowable of 2% to be classified as Extra Virgin olive oil. The low acidity and the high content of polyphenols makes the Nocellara Extra Virgin olive oil particularly helpful in cases of bad digestion and high cholesterol.
With its high concentration of vitamin A, B, D and K as well as antioxidants, it is believed to slow down the ageing process and with its high concentration of Oleic acid, it protects the heart and helps to prevent arteriosclerosis.
